We have A LOT of news this week!!
First, our grade 7 students finished their area projects. Check out the pictures of their work. Many students worked very hard on this project that required them to design, measure, use a compass to make circles, and use a protractor to make angles. They also had to calculate the area of each shape and the entire shape.
Progress Reports were handed out TODAY. Please return them signed on Tuesday. We also handed out behavior contracts and information about our field trip on the last full day of school. We need chaperones!! If you can be with us for that day, please get in touch with me (firstname.lastname@example.org). Lunch forms were also handed out. It is a weekend of paperwork for you.
Math 7 students will be taking their last test of the year on Wednesday, and then we’ll start to review for the final exam.
Pre-Algebra students are finishing up our year with a condensed version Module 6 from Math 8 and then we’ll start our review for the final.
Community Read: A Wrinkle in Time
The community read has started in our school. We are really excited about this book. The 7th grade is kicking things off by reading 10 minutes each day in math class (I’m reading it aloud to them). We will get through as much as we can in our 10 minutes daily and then they will continue their reading in ELA during the week of the culminating event (June 11-15). I am on the planning committee for this event and we have A LOT of great things that we’re working on for the week including watching the new movie!
